Cole, Robert

Robert (Rob) is part of AGS’s Commercial practice and has been with AGS since 2007. He was appointed to the role of Senior Executive Lawyer in February 2025.

One of Rob’s key areas of practice is providing advice on complex and extensive property matters. He has assisted agencies to resolve leasing disputes and has provided advice about construction procurement, securities, execution of documents and water. As the AGS Water Conveyancing leader, he has responsibility for AGS’s national water conveyancing practice and direct oversight of a large volume of files involving the transfer of water rights to the Commonwealth.

Rob has received several Australia Day Achievements Awards in his legal career at AGS. In 2020 he was awarded for his work advising the Commonwealth on major water transaction and programs. In 2023, he was part of a team awarded for the provision of outstanding legal services to Indigenous Business Australia and Services Australia.

Rob is also the primary author of the AGS publication on execution of commercial documents, which is regularly relied on by agencies across the Commonwealth.
