Senior Executive Lawyer

Liam acts for the Commonwealth and provides specialist expertise and strategic advice in significant constitutional cases, particularly in the High Court. He also provides written advice to clients on a broad range of public law issues. 

In 2019–2021 he was outposted to the Treasury where he advised in relation to the Commonwealth’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and legislative responses to the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry. 

In 2017 Liam completed an LLM at Queens’ College, University of Cambridge, where he was a Foundation Scholar. He received the 2020 Zines Prize for Excellence in Legal Research. Prior to joining AGS in 2013, he was Associate to Justice Robertson at the Federal Court of Australia.
