Senior General Counsel
Susie has over 24 years’ experience advising Commonwealth agencies predominantly on statutory interpretation, administrative law, constitutional law and environmental and water law. She has considerable experience working as an outpost, including as Client Counsel to the then Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities and advising the Water Division in the then Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment. She understands the everyday pressures faced by her clients and has a deep appreciation of the policy development process.
Susie has been a key legal adviser on a range of major legislative proposals, including the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme in 2009, the Biosecurity Act 2015, the Export Control Act 2020 and amendments to the Water Act 2007 and Basin Plan 2012.
