Senior Executive Lawyer
Abigail joins AGS with 14 years’ experience in employment law and dispute resolution.
Abigail has significant expertise in conducting employment-related litigation, including breach of enterprise agreement, unlawful termination and discrimination claims. She has represented both public and private sector clients across a range of industries in the Fair Work Commission, Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) and Federal Courts.
Having advised on the full range of matters across the employment lifecycle, Abigail has extensive experience advising on industrial disputes and risk mitigation, award coverage and compliance, breach of contract and employee terminations.
Relevant experience
Some of Abigail’s key achievements include:
- acting for Airservices Australia in multiple industrial disputes and civil penalty proceedings in the Fair Work Commission and Federal Courts dealing with air traffic controllers’ rosters, leave and entitlements
- acting for the Registered Organisations Commissioner to prosecute the Australian Workers' Union and its former branch secretary on referral from the Royal Commission into Trade Union Governance and Corruption
- appearing in the AAT and successfully defending an application to review a decision of the Australian Human Rights Commission regarding the supported employment sector
- acting for a commercial client in a major claim against a competitor and its former employees for breach of confidence and breach of fiduciary duty in the Federal Court and High Court.
Before joining AGS, Abigail worked at Ashurst law firm and also undertook in-house secondment roles for ANZ and KPMG.
