Employment and entitlements

Fiona acts for and advises Commonwealth clients in a range of areas including decision-making, professional regulation and enforcement, and complex litigation. She appears in and manages litigation across a range of jurisdictions and forums, including the High Court, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and the Federal Court, and has specialist expertise in the merits and judicial review. She also advises on governance and administrative law matters.

Fiona has experience in managing complex litigation and administrative law proceedings (AAT); advising on employment issues and workers’ compensation; and specialist expertise in Defence members’ and veterans’ entitlements.

She has managed complex judicial review for the Department of Defence, and complex administrative law proceedings associated with criminal proceedings for the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission. She has also acted for and advised the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission, the Tax Practitioners’ Board, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, the Torres Strait Island Regional Authority, the Registrar of Trade Marks, Department of Veterans’ Affairs and the Australian Taxation Office.

Fiona regularly shares her expertise with Commonwealth clients and colleagues as a presenter on employment and administrative law at AGS legal forums and client training programs.
