Senior Executive Lawyer

Evan has a broad range of experience in litigation and dispute resolution matters built over 25 years. In that time, his work has spanned criminal prosecutions, civil regulation and tax disputes. Evan has deployed a range of skills to bring his matters to successful resolution including alternative dispute resolution. He regularly appears for clients in a range of jurisdictions and provides regular advice on coercive information-gathering powers.

He has significant experience working in and leading large teams and in complex matters involving multiple regulatory agencies. He has been involved in matters in all Victorian jurisdictions and was a member of the AGS team that supported the Building and Construction Industry Royal Commission. He has extensive experience in taxation matters, obtaining urgent freezing orders and voidable transfers and preference payments. 

Recent experience

Evan's recent work includes:

  • defending multiple claims for Public Interest Immunity arising from a significant discovery exercise in a large class action in the Supreme Court (VIC) (Kamasaee)
  • acting for law enforcement agencies in relation to protection of Commonwealth sensitivities.
