New AGS magazine proves popular

AGS decided to create a new biannual publication to highlight some of our recent case studies and tell clients about our practice, our business and our people. It has been hugely popular and warmly received. You can read the first issue on this website.

We were hugely delighted that Justice Stephen Gageler of the High Court agreed that we could publish his inspiring speech from the launch of our recently released biography of Dennis Rose AM QC, the Commonwealth's first Chief General Counsel. Justice Gageler's article is titled 'What it is to be a government lawyer'.

That is followed by 3 case studies: Norfolk Island governance reform (of AGS's Office of General Counsel), Commonwealth v Director, Fair Work Building Industry Inspectorate (of AGS Dispute Resolution) and the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources concessional loan schemes (of AGS Commercial).

The legal centrepiece of the magazine is a selection of 5 articles on various aspects of confidentiality, written by 13 lawyers representing all 3 practices.

They are followed by a double-page spread introducing each practice with 5 of their people talking about what makes that practice special.

It is planned that there will only be 2 issues each year, with the next one due in April 2017. Details about subscribing are in the magazine.

The magazine has been developed entirely in-house.
