Welcome to the new Australian Government Solicitor
Michael Kingston commences as the new Australian Government Solicitor on Monday 5 December 2016. He comes direct from his role as Chief Legal Officer of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), based in Melbourne. From 1989 to 2003, he was a Partner at Mallesons Stephen Jaques, practising in company and commercial law. Previously, he has worked in England with Slaughter and May and in Papua New Guinea as a government lawyer. He has also been an in-house counsel at BHP.
