Hannah Quadrio, a Canberra-based Senior Lawyer in Dispute Resolution, has headed off to Nowra where she will be undertaking a full-time pro bono placement with the South Coast Women’s Health and Welfare Aboriginal Corporation (also known as Waminda).
Waminda, which was established in 1990, runs a number of integrated health programs for Aboriginal women and their families, including the provision of health services such as antenatal and postnatal care as well as parenting education, immunisation programs, drug and alcohol programs, organising short term accommodation, support coordination, counselling and ongoing services relating to the NDIS.
Prior to joining AGS as a senior lawyer, Hannah worked for several years at Northern Territory Legal Aid. Hannah’s experience in delivering community legal education, and working at the intersection of health and law, will no doubt be helpful during her time at Waminda.
