AGS recognised for supporting justice in Tasmania

AGS’s long standing pro bono support in Tasmania was recently recognised when it was awarded the ‘Access to Justice Outstanding Pro Bono Legal Award 2022’.

Senior Lawyer and Director of AGS’s Hobart office, David Wilson also received the individual ‘Access to Justice Outstanding Pro Bono Legal Award’, recognising his significant contribution over many years.

AGS’s and David’s awards are presented by the Law Society of Tasmania to firms and individuals who provide pro bono support.

AGS has, since early 2013, been supporting the Law Society of Tasmania in its administration of the Tasmanian Pro Bono Referral Services (TPBRS) through the placement of lawyers.

The TPBRS matches people and organisations that are in genuine need of pro bono legal assistance with a law firm or barrister who may be able to assist.

This work is significant in ensuring disadvantaged and marginalised people in the Tasmanian community are able to access legal assistance.

AGS thanks the Law Society of Tasmania for these awards and looks forward to continuing our strong support for legal justice.

AGS lawyers have a long tradition of using their professional skills to support community interests though pro bono work. Find out more how our pro bono work supports communities and organisations across Australia and overseas.
