Recent senior appointments to AGS's employment law practice

AGS Dispute Resolution's Employment and Compensation team leaders Craig Rawson and Fiona Dempsey and OGC's Employment, Entitlements and Money team leader Bridget Gilmour-Walsh are delighted to announce some recent senior appointments that strengthen our employment law practice. The appointments recognise the depth of employment law experience each of these AGS lawyers have attained and offer clients across the APS.

AGS Dispute Resolution's Senior Executive Lawyer Catherine Mann specialises in public sector employment law. She represents and advises Commonwealth agencies on the full range of employment and workplace relations issues, including complex and contentious matters relating to discrimination, dismissals, SES employment issues and public interest disclosures. Catherine has a particular focus on using alternative dispute resolution to get the best possible outcome for her clients. Her experience also includes administrative law and workers' compensation.

OGC's Senior General Counsel Andrew Chapman specialises in constitutional law, legislative development, employment law and statutory interpretation. He has played a leading role in drafting and developing legislation in areas such as social policy, agriculture, water and education. He has advised on major legislative reforms, including education funding and electoral reform, and advises on the Commonwealth financial framework and employment issues, including the development of industrial instruments.

OGC's Senior General Counsel Olivia Abbott's key areas of expertise are employment law, taxation law, statutory interpretation, constitutional law, information law and the Commonwealth financial management framework. She was closely involved in the development of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 and related legislation. She regularly advises on employment issues, including on issues arising from machinery-of-government changes, enterprise agreements and work health and safety obligations.

We congratulate Catherine, Andrew and Olivia on their promotions.

We commend these fine lawyers to our clients with employment law issues.
