Justice Connect receives AGS support

15 September 2021

Romany Tauber, AGS Senior Lawyer, has been undertaking a pro bono placement with Justice Connect since August 2019.

Justice Connect (formerly known as Public Interest Law Clearing House, PILCH) was established over 25 years ago to meet unmet demand for legal services from members of the community who may not otherwise be able to access legal support they require. It connects those in need with members of the legal profession who are able to provide the required pro bono assistance. Justice Connect offers a number of specialised services which include Disaster Response, Homeless Law, Seniors Law, Not for Profit Law and Domestic Building Legal Services.

AGS’s collaboration with Justice Connect goes back to 2009 and we have provided pro bono support through the placement of multiple lawyers and assisted with the development of their educational resources.

Romany began her pro bono placement in late August 2019 supporting the work of Justice Connect, where her commercial and property law experience proved invaluable in providing advice to self-represented litigants in a wide range of matters. These matters ranged from small business owners in commercial litigation to home owners in domestic building disputes, and more recently, assisting clients grappling with legal disputes as a result of natural disasters such as bushfires and floods.
