AGS lawyers have taken on 'big tobacco' – and won.

The High Court's ruling that the Government's plain packaging laws for tobacco products are constitutionally valid brings a successful close to a massive undertaking for some of AGS's leading lawyers.

A combined team from the Office of General Counsel and AGS Dispute Resolution, led by Gavin Loughton and Andrew Buckland, spent several months on the High Court challenge.

The decision clears the path for the commencement of the Government's world-first legislation to ban all brand marks and logos on cigarettes from December this year.
