This course has been designed for participants who require an in-depth understanding of when and how delegations and authorisations can be made.
Course outline
The administration of delegations and authorisations by departments and other agencies is crucial to the effective business of government. This course covers:
- the legal basis for the devolution of power
- the difference between delegations and authorisations
- when a delegation or authorisation can be made.
It is an interactive course and there are a variety of examples and exercises to illustrate key concepts. Course materials will be given to each participant for use as future reference material.
Objectives
Participants will gain an enhanced understanding of delegations and authorisations and an awareness of the things that departments and agencies should be mindful of when setting up and administering schemes of delegations and authorisations and how risks can be minimised.
Presenters
Our presenters are experienced lawyers from our Office of General Counsel who have a great depth of knowledge of the government environment and who specialise in statutory interpretation, machinery of government and constitutional law.
Duration
This is a 3-hours course delivered online. This course offers 2.5 CPD points.
Cost
Standard fee – $400 (inclusive of GST) per person. No more than 20 people will be accepted on each course and courses will only be conducted if we receive sufficient nominations.
