Privacy Reforms: getting ready for the changes

Who should attend

This course has been specifically designed for government lawyers tasked with implementing the Privacy Act reforms within their agency. It may also be useful for privacy officers who are responsible for overseeing their agency’s compliance with the Privacy Act.

Participants will come away from this course with the knowledge to implement the Privacy Act reforms within their agency.

Course outline

At present, the Government expects the first tranche of legislation to give effect to long awaited reforms to the Privacy Act 1988 to be put before the Parliament in the winter sittings. This training session will give you an overview of the draft legislation, and the practical steps your agency can take to get ready for the reforms.

Our presenters are AGS lawyers who have a great depth of knowledge of the government environment, and who practise extensively in the areas of information access and administrative law.

This is a half-day course delivered online. This course offers 3 CPD points.

Cost

Standard fee – $460 (inclusive of GST) per person. No more than 20 people will be accepted on each course and courses will only be conducted if we receive sufficient nominations.
